Fresh boiled 'nads.

Information on our upcoming 3-day singles' ward activity at Lava Hot Springs:

"The spring's temperatures range from approximately 102 to 112 degrees."

Ummmmm......we only have about 20 men in our ward, and now we're going to mass-sterilize them? How do I register a complaint....?

That picture looks like a much more glamourous version of Lava Hot Springs than I remember.

You have a point about the temperature, but I think that it's still around the temperature of hot tap water, yes? So maybe the boys' boys will be safe.

Lena -- You're right that that's about the temperature of hot tap water, but according to my sources that still is too hot for the boys' boys, as you say :) A jacuzzi's high setting is 104 degrees (by law) because that's considered the highest absolutely healthy level and above 108 is considered downright dangerous. Jacuzzi use is known to result in decreased sperm count for a few months. If they lay off the "wet heat" afterward many are back to normal in a few months, but some scientists think that permanent damage can also occur, especially from prolonged exposure to wet heat. Does three days count as "prolonged"? Maybe not. For the perpetuation of Zion, we must hope not. :)

Citymama -- Thanks! We must laugh in the face of procreational tragedy or we end up bankrupting ourselves on IVF and Haagen Dazs.

This post should come with a warning. I nearly sprayed diet coke all over my keyboard while laughing!

*snort*

Three-day trip to the hot springs for the singles' ward?

What will it be next year? A week's stay at a fertility clinic in Vegas, right next to a wedding chapel?

A funny post, and funny comments. My cup runneth over.

Seriously, how *would* you raise that concern? Can you tape record the conversation please?

This is made me laugh! I think you should definitely bring this concern up to the officials.

I think Bishop Foster would be most interested to hear this. We must work as a team to protect the boys from their awful fate! Keep them busy and out of the hot water!
